Basketball Recap: Burges' Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Burges lost against Montwood back in December of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mustangs took a 58-41 bruising from the Rams. The loss put an end to the Mustangs' undefeated start to the season.

Despite the loss, Burges still got an impressive performance from Anthony Rubio, who posted 16 points. The contest was Rubio's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Alex Bermudez, who had 11 points and seven boards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Burges fell to 2-1. As for Montwood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Burges didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-47 victory against Parkland on the 20th. As for Montwood, they have also already played their next game, a 61-21 win against Del Valle on the 20th.
