Football Recap: Provine Rams vs. Cleveland Central Wolves
Provine had lost eight straight at home dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 2-9 to make it nine. They were dealt a 49-8 loss at the hands of the Cleveland Central Wolves. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2019.
JAYDEN THURMAN threw for 102 yards and one touchdown. JAYLIN WALKER was his top target, picking up 59 receiving yards and one score.
As for Cleveland Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Anthony Stephens Jr was his usual excellent self, rushing for 139 yards and three TDs. He has become a key player for Cleveland Central: the team is 5-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. Kyle Mitchell helped out on the ground, rushing for 93 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Provine does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cleveland Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. The Wolves will be up against the Commodores' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
