Basketball Recap: Mineola Comes Up Short

The Mustangs came up short against the Valley Stream North Spartans on Thursday, falling 70-49. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost six in a row.

Mineola's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Valley Stream North, their win bumped their record up to 8-5.

Mineola wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-39 victory against East Rockaway on the 17th. As for Valley Stream North, they will square off against Friends Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans' defense better be ready for this one: the Quakers have averaged an impressive 57.3 points per game this season.
