Soccer Game Preview: Lutheran vs. Lewis-Palmer

Lutheran is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Thursday. They will welcome the Lewis-Palmer Rangers at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Lutheran's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Thomas Jefferson. Given Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 42nd, while Thomas Jefferson are ranked 147th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gavin Rice and Mason Massarotti scored both of Lutheran's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Meanwhile, Lewis-Palmer's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Chaparral by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lewis-Palmer.

Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 5-3-1. As for Lewis-Palmer, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-7.

Lutheran beat Lewis-Palmer by a goal in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 2-1. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Rangers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
