Volleyball Recap: Jackson Falls Short Against Ranked Cor Jesu Academy

Jackson faced Cor Jesu Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Fighting Indians took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. The Fighting Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Chargers earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Cor Jesu Academy scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-20, 22-25, 25-17.

Cor Jesu Academy was led to victory by Tori Gallen and Ginnie Normile. Gallen had six digs and two aces, while Normile had 13 digs. Gallen is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Jackson's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 37-3. As for Cor Jesu Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season.

Jackson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cor Jesu Academy, they will square off against Lafayette on Saturday.
