Softball Recap: Bryan Has No Trouble Against Omaha North

Bryan's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Omaha North Vikings. Considering the Bears' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Nat Arens was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over four innings pitched. Arens was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Polsey, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Gyana Ellis, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Bryan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Omaha North only posted an OBP of .133.

Bryan's record is now 2-7. As for Omaha North, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bryan will venture away from home to take on Buena Vista at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Omaha North, they will head out to challenge Omaha South on Tuesday. The Packers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.86 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
