Recap: Northern Cambria Colts vs. Purchase Line Red Dragons
The Northern Cambria Colts lost against the Purchase Line Red Dragons back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Northern Cambria fell to Purchase Line 56-52. Northern Cambria has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Among those leading the charge was Jianna Hopkins, who scored 24 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Layden, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Northern Cambria bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.6 points per game. As for Purchase Line, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.
Northern Cambria will take on Penns Manor at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Penns Manor presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Northern Cambria in Pennsylvania (Penns Manor is ranked 100th, while Northern Cambria is ranked 511th). Purchase Line won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Harmony Area at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Harmony Area comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
