Football Game Preview: Lipscomb Academy Mustangs vs. Christian Brothers Purple Wave + Official Tickets

After each having a week off, the Lipscomb Academy Mustangs and the Christian Brothers Purple Wave will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Christian Brothers took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lipscomb Academy, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Lipscomb Academy beat Father Ryan 20-14. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Mustangs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Irish are ranked 131st).

Meanwhile, Christian Brothers fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Briarcrest Christian last Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 24-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saints. While the Purple Wave didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Saints 7-0 in the first quarter.

Lipscomb Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Christian Brothers, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.
