Volleyball Game Preview: Ridgeview Panthers vs. Fleming Island Golden Eagles

The Ridgeview Panthers will square off against the Fleming Island Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ridgeview is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on ED White with a sharp 3-0 victory.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Ridgeview was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-10, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Fleming Island narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Harvest Community 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.

Fleming Island wouldn't go down easily and took Harvest Community into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-21, 12-25, 25-19, 15-9.

Fleming Island's win came from a few key players Ridgeview will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alana Santiago, who had six digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven matches. Hanna Kophamer was another key player, getting ten digs and three assists.

Ridgeview's record is now 15-6. As for Fleming Island, their record now sits at 18-6.

Ridgeview might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Fleming Island in their previous matchup back in August. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
