It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Merritt Island had no problem doing just that on Monday. Everything went their way against the Suncoast Chargers as they made off with a 9-3 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Merritt Island let Liam Miller and Jayce Brandes run wild. Miller went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Brandes went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

The win (which was Merritt Island's eighth in a row) raised their record to 22-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Suncoast, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 17-10 record.

Merritt Island will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
