Volleyball Recap: Pueblo South Takes a Loss

Pueblo South extended their losing streak to nine on Tuesday, dropping them down to 1-9. They came up short against the Mesa Ridge Grizzlies, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Colts of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

As for Mesa Ridge, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-8. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Among those leading the charge was Lyric Hodges, who had 11 assists and five aces. Those five aces gave her a new career-high. Savana Iverson also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Pueblo South didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Pueblo Central on the 18th. As for Mesa Ridge, they have also already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Sand Creek on the 18th.
