Volleyball Game Preview: Wessington Springs Spartans vs. James Valley Christian Vikings

Wessington Springs and James Valley Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2018, but not for long. The Spartans will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m.

Wessington Springs came up short against Hitchcock-Tulare on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost four in a row.

Wessington Springs took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-13, 25-17.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for James Valley Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Tuesday.

James Valley Christian walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-17, 21-25, 26-24.

Wessington Springs' loss dropped their record down to 12-17. As for James Valley Christian, their win ended a six-match drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-14.

Wessington Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over James Valley Christian when the teams last played last Tuesday, winning 3-1. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
