The Mansfield Legacy Broncos will take on the Boswell Pioneers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Boswell took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Mansfield Legacy, who comes in off a win.
Mansfield Legacy took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Lake Ridge.
The win didn't come easy: Lake Ridge scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 23-25, 25-19.
Meanwhile, Boswell came up short against Weatherford on Tuesday and fell 3-1.
While Boswell had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 17-25, 25-18, 25-23.
Despite the loss, Boswell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emma Stuhr had 17 assists and three aces. Stuhr is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 16 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Alessandra Cenotto also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Boswell's defeat dropped their record down to 18-17. As for Mansfield Legacy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-14 record this season.
Mansfield Legacy beat Boswell 3-1 in their previous matchup back in September. Will the Broncos repeat their success, or do the Pioneers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
