Basketball Game Preview: South Lake Eagles vs. Dr. Phillips Panthers

Having just played yesterday, the South Lake Eagles will jump right back in to play the Dr. Phillips Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

South Lake took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They secured a 66-60 W over Legacy Charter. With that victory, South Lake brought their scoring average up to 51.6 points per game.

South Lake can attribute much of their success to Dwayne Foreman III, who shot 47% from the field en route to 25 points and three steals, and Isaiah Pina, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 13 boards. With that strong performance, Foreman III is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahmari Brissett, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dr. Phillips). They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 75-36 win over Freedom. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won six in a row.

South Lake picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Dr. Phillips, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
