The Heritage Christian Patriots will take on the Sheboygan Area Lutheran Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Heritage Christian sitting on 18 straight wins and Sheboygan Area Lutheran on four.
Heritage Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on The Prairie School with a sharp 3-0 victory.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Heritage Christian took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-14, 25-9.
Heritage Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Nina Dorger out in front who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces Dorger has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Ainsley Ellis, who hit 100% for six kills and eight digs and five aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Heritage Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Sheboygan Area Lutheran posted their closest victory since September 13th on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Kohler.
Sheboygan Area Lutheran was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 17-25, 20-25, 25-15, 16-14.
Sheboygan Area Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 14-17. As for Heritage Christian, their win bumped their record up to 34-6.
