Softball Recap: Central Valley Comes Up Short

Central Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ferris Saxons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 16-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Whitney Hollen was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorraina Palmer, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Central Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ferris, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Central Valley is set to face off against their familiar foe Lewis & Clark at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ferris will take on rival University at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
