Volleyball Recap: Coronado Takes a Loss

Coronado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Doherty Spartans, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Coronado's offense was headlined by Jessie Weeks and Izabella Iglesias, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Karina Jarboe and her seven assists. Alexi Arnell controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Doherty can attribute much of their success to Jane Rodriguez, who had 14 digs and two assists. Rodriguez has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Coronado's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Doherty, with the victory, they broke their five-match losing streak and moved their record to 8-14.

Coronado has already played their next matchup (against Woodland Park), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Doherty, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Discovery Canyon on the 1st.
