Baseball Game Preview: Hardin Valley Academy Hawks vs. McMinn County Cherokees

The Hardin Valley Academy Hawks will challenge the McMinn County Cherokees at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

On Wednesday, Hardin Valley Academy didn't have quite enough to beat West and fell 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Hawks have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, McMinn County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-3 to Boyd-Buchanan.

Hardin Valley Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 18-9-1. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for McMinn County, their loss dropped their record down to 14-14.

Hardin Valley Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over McMinn County when the teams last played back in April of 2021, winning 10-7. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cherokees turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
