Basketball Game Preview: Carver Yellowjackets vs. Cornerstone Charter Cardinals

The Carver Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to square off against the Cornerstone Charter Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Carver's defense has only allowed 27.5 points per game this season, so Cornerstone Charter's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Last Wednesday, Carver strolled past Bethany Community with points to spare, taking the game 46-27. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellowjackets.

Meanwhile, Cornerstone Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 36-18 fall against Clover Garden School.

Amilli Shaw was Cornerstone Charter's leading scorer, having posted four points. Kamryn Stephens held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Cornerstone Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Carver, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Carver against Cornerstone Charter when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 53-18 win. In that match, Carver amassed a halftime lead of 30-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
