Baseball Recap: Lamar County Takes a Loss

Lamar County fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against South Lamar on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Stallions by a score of 3-2. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Stallions earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

Lamar County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Mclean, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Mclean has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Lamar County's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for South Lamar, they pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Lamar County has already played their next matchup, a 9-8 win against Paul W. Bryant on the 18th. As for South Lamar, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-1 defeat against Gordo on the 18th.
