Softball Preview: Biglerville Canners vs. Fairfield Knights
Biglerville is 0-10 against Fairfield since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Biglerville Canners will head out on the road to face off against the Fairfield Knights at 4:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Wednesday, Biglerville got themselves on the board against York County Tech, but York County Tech never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over the Spartans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Biglerville.
Sydney McCleaf made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. McCleaf was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Biglerville got a big performance out of Ava Peterson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Hannah Naylor was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, everything went Fairfield's way against West York Area back in March as Fairfield made off with a 16-5 win. The victory was just what Fairfield needed coming off of a 10-2 loss in their prior contest.
The win got Biglerville back to even at 2-2. As for Fairfield, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
