Baseball Game Preview: Eaglecrest Raptors vs. Chatfield Chargers

The Eaglecrest Raptors will face off against the Chatfield Chargers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Eaglecrest took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Highlands Ranch. The victory continues a trend for the Raptors in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.

Leandro Jimenez was incredible, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tavish Dey, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Chatfield put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Heritage by a score of 14-9.

Riley Suddath looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colin Metz, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Banning Low was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Chatfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage only posted a batting average of .267.

Chatfield's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Eaglecrest, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
