Hartford won the last time they faced Springfield and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hurricanes walked away with an 8-5 win over the Cosmos.

Hartford let Maria Chaput and Faith Brown run wild. Chaput went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Brown went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave Chaput a new career-high. Hazel Saunders was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Hartford's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.

Coming up, Hartford will venture away from home to face off against Rutland at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rutland has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.58 runs per game on average), something Hartford will no doubt try to take advantage of. Springfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
