Football Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Nevada

It's playoff time, and Nevada had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 24-14 victory over the Clear Lake Lions on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Cubs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Lions are ranked first).

Nevada has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.9 points over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Clear Lake fell to 10-1.

As of now, neither Nevada nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
