Basketball Recap: Miller County Comes Up Short

Miller County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 79-32 defeat at the hands of the Calhoun County Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 447th, while the Cougars are ranked 86th).

Miller County's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Calhoun County, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miller County will challenge Quitman County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Calhoun County, they will face off against Terrell County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Terrell County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.2 points per game this season.
