Basketball Game Preview: Ardrey Kell Knights vs. Kings Mountain Mountaineers + How To Watch

The Ardrey Kell Knights will challenge the Kings Mountain Mountaineers at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ardrey Kell is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since February 11th on Saturday. They skirted past Asheville Christian Academy 53-51. Those 53 points were actually the fewest the Knights have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Braden Suggs produced another solid effort going 9-for-15 on his way to 21 points. His big performance that afternoon made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovin Jones, who shot 71% from the field en route to 12 points.

Meanwhile, Kings Mountain had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Burns by a score of 78-69. The Mountaineers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Kings Mountain's win came from a few key players Ardrey Kell will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caleb Nixon, who went 10-for-24 to rack up 30 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Ethan Daniel, who shot 67% from the field on his way to 27 points.

Kings Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Ardrey Kell now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Kings Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
