Volleyball Recap: Calhan Takes a Loss

After flying high against The Colorado Springs School on Tuesday, Calhan came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Evangel Christian Academy Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Calhan took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 22-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-9.

Evangel Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Bailey Roberts, who had 12 digs and three aces. Roberts is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Calhan dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Evangel Christian Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhan will square off against Elbert at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they will challenge Custer County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
