Baseball Game Preview: Corning Cardinals vs. Oroville Tigers

For the second straight game, Corning will face off against Oroville. The Cardinals will square off against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Corning's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Oroville with a sharp 9-0 victory. The Cardinals not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Gradyn Peterson, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Seth Johnson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Oroville dropped their record down to 4-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Corning, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-11.
