Basketball Recap: Arapahoe Starts Season with Win Against Vista PEAK Prep

Arapahoe gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the Vista PEAK Prep Bison 74-50. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bison, too.

When it comes to explaining why Vista PEAK Prep lost, don't look at Knakai Starks. Despite the final result, she went 9-for-11 en route to 23 points and eight rebounds. Starks has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last seven times she's played. Mady Eltzroth was another key player, putting up eight points.

Vista PEAK Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arapahoe is headed away from home for the first time to challenge ThunderRidge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vista PEAK Prep, they will face off against Highlands Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th.
