Basketball Game Preview: Kenwood Knights vs. Northwest Vikings

Kenwood hasn't had much luck against Northwest recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Kenwood Knights will be playing at home against the Northwest Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Kenwood will be strutting in after a victory while Northwest will be coming in after a loss.

Kenwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took down West Creek 60-41 on Tuesday.

It was another big night for Yazmine Pearson, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 21 boards. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Kenwood's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sy?Nya Seay, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 41-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dickson County.

Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Kenwood, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Kenwood might still be hurting after the 50-29 defeat they got from Northwest in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Kenwood, Kendall Myree (who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
