Baseball Recap: Deep Creek Find Success

Deep Creek's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Manor Mustangs by a score of 8-4. The victory continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won eight in a row.

Owen Hoertt was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Hoertt was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tristin Mosley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Jaydin Frame was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Deep Creek's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Manor, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deep Creek will host Western Branch at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Western Branch will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Deep Creek surely won't give up without a fight. As for Manor, they will welcome Booker T. Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give Manor their first taste of in-conference action this season.
