Basketball Recap: Pueblo Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Pueblo extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday, bumping them up to 5-0. They put the hurt on the Cibola Raiders with a sharp 64-38 win. Fans of the Warriors have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Pueblo's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Espinoza, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 14 boards. With that strong performance, Espinoza is now averaging an impressive 2.2 blocks per game. Another player making a difference was Asia Clark, who shot 53% from the field to rack up 19 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Pueblo smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cibola fell to 2-1. They haven't had much luck with Pueblo recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Cibola's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jaida Bosch, who went 5-for-10 en route to 12 points, and Kailani Mezquita, who posted seven points. Elisa Molina was another key player, putting up eight points.

Pueblo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-47 win against Snowflake on the 25th. As for Cibola, they have also already played their next matchup, a 36-26 victory against Amphitheater on the 25th.
