Soccer Recap: Berea Comes Up Short

If Berea was riding high fresh off their 5-2 takedown of Pickens two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Berea took a 5-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Daniel Lions on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Berea can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Daniel are ranked 12th).

Geyser Fabricio Lopez and Owen Ramirez scored all three of Berea's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Berea has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5-1 record this season. The win (which was Daniel's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Berea is set to challenge their familiar foe Seneca at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Daniel will square off against rival Travelers Rest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
