Football Recap: Eastside Piles Up the Points Against Sandalwood

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastside). They claimed a resounding 43-14 victory over the Sandalwood Saints. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Rams' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Saints are ranked 344th).

Eastside found their leader in sophomore Javaris Gardner, who rushed for 142 yards and three scores while picking up 8.9 yards per carry, and also picked up 32 receiving yards.

The win (which was Eastside's third in a row) raised their record to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.7 points over those games. As for Sandalwood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eastside will welcome North Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rams are facing the Colts at the right time seeing as the Colts are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Sandalwood, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Parker at 6:30 p.m. on the 30th.
