Football Recap: Christian Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The Christian Patriots came up short against the St. Augustine Saints on Friday and fell 20-7.

Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kai Rosier, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Paisios Polamalu produced another solid performance rushing for 132 yards and two touchdowns for St. Augustine. Polamalu has become a key player for the Saints: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise.

Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for St. Augustine, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Christian will challenge Point Loma at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pointers' defense has only allowed 10.9 points per game this season, so the Patriots' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Augustine, they will take on La Jolla at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Saints will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.38 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
