Basketball Recap: Stargate School Takes a Loss

Stargate School played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 54-32 to the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Miners recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Prospect Ridge Academy was led to victory by Jack Brandt and Jackson Rhodes. Brandt almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards, while Rhodes shot 50% from the field on his way to 16 points and seven rebounds. Those 16 points gave Rhodes a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Huffman, who posted eight points.

Stargate School now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stargate School will square off against Estes Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they will face off against Strasburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
