Football Recap: Matawan Regional Huskies vs. Middletown North Lions
Matawan Regional easily dispatched Long Branch last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Huskies fell just short of the Middletown North Lions by a score of 23-21 on Friday. While the Huskies had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Lions 6-0.
BlairCarter Gagneron threw for 176 yards and one touchdown. Cayson Williams was his top target, picking up 93 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Erik Martinez rushed for 54 yards.
Middletown North got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Matthew Belenko out in front who rushed for 141 yards and one TD.
