Baseball Recap: North Kitsap Finds Home Field Redemption Against Lynden

There's no place like home for North Kitsap, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Lynden Lions with a sharp 10-2 win on Friday. With that victory, the Vikings brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Tate Stearns made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Stearns was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Greysen Prichard and Jonathan Bourque did most of the damage at the plate: Prichard scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Bourque went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those stolen bases marked the first that Prichard snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Dawsyn Anderson, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

North Kitsap now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lynden, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, North Kitsap will welcome Olympic at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lynden, they will challenge Bellingham at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lynden is facing Bellingham at the right time seeing as Bellingham is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
