Recap: Riverdale Ridge Ravens vs. Niwot Cougars
The Riverdale Ridge Ravens scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Niwot on the road to the tune of 80-30. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Riverdale Ridge has managed all season.
Riverdale Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brihanna Crittendon, who scored 28 points along with five rebounds and five steals. The matchup was Crittendon's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brooklynn Charlo, who scored 16 points along with nine steals and seven assists.
When it comes to explaining why Niwot lost, one person who can't be blamed is Rose Pacheco. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points along with three steals. Pacheco is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Zechman, who scored five points.
Niwot struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Riverdale Ridge pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.
Riverdale Ridge pushed their record up to 3-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for Niwot, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverdale Ridge will take on Skyline at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Skyline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Tuesday. As for Niwot, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Severance at 4:00 p.m. on December 14th. Severance comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
