Basketball Recap: Monticello Starts Season with Win at Home + How To Watch

Monticello took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They blew past the Madison County Mountaineers 78-57. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Mountaineers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaiah Jones, who shot 53% from the field en route to 23 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Demetrius Timberlake, who posted 13 points and five boards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Monticello is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Waynesboro at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Madison County, they will challenge Orange County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
