Softball Recap: Agoura Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Agoura's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thousand Oaks Lancers on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Chargers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Agoura saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chaden Chatelain, who went 1-for-2 with one double. Emilia Liversidge also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Agoura's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Thousand Oaks, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Agoura will head out on the road to take on Newbury Park at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Agoura's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Newbury Park's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Thousand Oaks, they will take on Saugus at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Saugus 2.6, Thousand Oaks 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
