Football Recap: Beekmantown Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Beekmantown's offense. They took a blow against the Peru Nighthawks on Saturday, falling 42-0. Having soared to a lofty 51 points in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Troy Finley threw for 27 yards. Garrett Pelkey was his top target, picking up 27 receiving yards. On the ground, Shamus Bibeau rushed for 39 yards.

It was another big night for Brody Blaise-Smith, who rushed for 75 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries for Peru. An impressive showing, but Blaise-Smith really ramped things up playing D: he picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made seven total tackles. Finley Coon got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Beekmantown fell to 3-1. As for Peru, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Beekmantown has already played their next game, a 39-10 victory against AuSable Valley on the 3rd. As for Peru, they will be playing at home against Moriah at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
