Basketball Recap: Fort Bend Elkins Takes a Loss

Fort Bend Elkins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Fort Bend Travis Tigers and fell 69-21. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-7.

Anisa Allen had an outrageously good game for Fort Bend Travis as she dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Allen is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Fayrouz Tahir, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Fort Bend Elkins' loss dropped their record down to 12-16. As for Fort Bend Travis, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-13 record this season.

Fort Bend Elkins wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-51 defeat against Fort Bend Bush on the 24th. Fort Bend Travis has also already played their next contest, a 50-45 loss against Fort Bend Austin on the 24th.
