Estill County blew Montgomery County out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Montgomery County got their revenge. Estill County fell just short of Montgomery County by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Engineers have suffered against the Indians since May 3, 2018.

Logan Friend was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
