Volleyball Recap: Summer Creek Takes a Loss

After flying high against Channelview on Friday, Summer Creek came back down to earth. The Bulldogs took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Atascocita Eagles on Tuesday. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-16, 21-25, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Summer Creek still got an impressive performance from Makayla Smith, who had 22 digs and one assist. Kenna Harris also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Summer Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 15-14. As for Atascocita, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Summer Creek has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against King on the 10th. As for Atascocita, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Humble on the 10th.
