Basketball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy

While Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 59-52 victory over the Hamilton Christian Warriors on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Hamilton Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javon Vital, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Vital has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Seth Ned was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.

Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Hamilton Christian, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-2.
