Volleyball Recap: Sophia Ruck and Payton Michel Secure Win for Miller City

It's playoff time, and Miller City had no trouble coming through when it counted. They skirted past the Pandora-Gilboa Rockets 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since October 10, 2024.

Miller City was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 24-26, 18-25, 25-18, 15-8.

Miller City was led to victory by Payton Michel and Sophia Ruck. Michel had 37 assists and 13 digs, while Ruck had 17 assists and nine digs. Ruck has been hot, having posted 14 or more assists the last five times she's played.

Miller City is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. As for Pandora-Gilboa, their loss ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-7.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Miller City and St. Paul will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pandora-Gilboa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
