Volleyball Recap: Peters Township Beats Canon-Mcmillan for Their Third Straight Win

After losing to Canon-McMillan the last time they met, Peters Township decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Indians walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Big Macs on Thursday. The game was the first time the Indians have beaten the Big Macs on their court since September 28, 2021.

Peters Township had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 12-25, 25-16, 27-25, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Canon-McMillan still got an impressive performance from Cheyenne Stipetich, who had seven digs and five aces. Stipetich is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The win was the third in a row for Peters Township, bringing their record up to 4-1. As for Canon-McMillan, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Peters Township is set to challenge their familiar foe Upper St. Clair at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Canon-McMillan will square off against rival Baldwin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
