Football Recap: Space Coast Takes Down Frostproof in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Space Coast rose to the challenge on Friday. They put the hurt on the Frostproof Bulldogs with a sharp 42-21 win. The result was nothing new for the Vipers, who have now won seven games by 21 points or more so far this season.

Space Coast was led to victory by Zion Sandy and Bradyn Cook. Sandy threw for 285 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes, while Cook gained 116 total yards and four touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Sandy a new career-high in rushing yards (93). 101 of Sandy's passing yards were hauled in by Kadyn Thomas.

Space Coast's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.8 points over those games. As for Frostproof, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-4.

Coming up, Space Coast will square off against American Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Vipers 9.7, the Stallions 13.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Frostproof does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
