Basketball Recap: Bunker Hill's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Bunker Hill had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 46-32 victory over the West Caldwell Warriors on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Bunker Hill got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eliana McClain out in front who went 5 for 9 on her way to 13 points and six steals. McClain has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Bailee Carswell was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Bunker Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Bunker Hill's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-6. As for West Caldwell, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
